At the centre of the Northern Universe was Yggdrasil, the tree of life. The nine worlds of Norse mythology were nestled among the branches and roots of this everlasting tree, and Yggdrasil linked these worlds.
Warden trees linked to Yggdrasil were kept as late as the 19th century in venerated areas of Scandinavia. Offerings were made to the trees, which were considered to be guardians and bringers of luck.

I used this for a Mother Earth costume, but I liked the heavy duty quality and the details of the carving, so I've already worn it more than once as just jewelry!
I love it! I wear it every day since I’ve bought it. Perfect size and great conversation starter!
Only had about a month, but so far it been great. No discoloring at all. Got some weight to it, but not too much. Rope necklace holding up very well.
To be honest a picture doesn't really do justice to the details of this pendant. I expected to receive the usual cheaply made stamped metal pendant but once I opened it I was very impressed.
This is a very nice necklace. It’s not too short and not too long.
